Moody's investors Service has boosted the College's bond rating from Aa, past Aa1, to Aaa, a level enjoyed by only 11 other educational institutions in the country such as Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Notre Dame, and Stanford. Dartmouth stands alone, however, as the only one of the 11 with an endowment of less than $1 billion. The new rating should save the College several million dollars over the life of its latest offering.
