Tom Laughlin has been named senior vice president, global new business for Bayer. In his new position Tom will be responsible for the creation and development of new business opportunities and licensing and acquisition for Bayer's global consumer care organization. Prior to Bayer, Tom spent ten years with Pharmacia Upjohn as president of its U.S. consumer healthcare group. He also recently served as chairman of the Nonprescription Drug Manufacturers Association. After graduating from Dartmouth, Tom spent eight years with Gillette and eight years with Upjohn. Along the way, he managed to earn an M.B.A. at Boston University.
Out in the northwest, Paul Grace recently ran for re-election to the Shoreline school board in the Seattle area. Holder of a master's degree in education from Vermont's Goddard College, Paul is employee relations manager for the Port of Seattle. Paul is married and has two children.
A recent edition of Boston Business Journal featured Michael Chu's career and accomplishments at Accion International, an organization with a mission to facilitate positive social change in Latin America and the United States through microinvestments.
Tom Couser has recently written a book, Recovering Bodies: Illness,Disability, and Life Writing published by the University of Wisconsin Press.
