I recently spoke to the president of the class of '23, Charles "Pete" Jones. He is still living in West Falmouth, Mass., has been active in organizing things around the house, and has been keeping track of current affairs at Dartmouth. He wanted to be remembered to all of his classmates.
I had a recent conversation with JohnGuppy, who is living in Bedford, Mass. He states that he returns yearly to Hanover to visit relatives and to keep up with what's going on at Dartmouth. He thinks that he put his Dartmouth education to good use in part because he was on the rifle team at Dartmouth and this enabled him to clear rabbits out of his garden as he grew older. He still runs errands and has been retired for some time as a structural engineer, having formerly built bridges for U.S. Steel.
David Reed Jr. is recovering from a recent illness. Up until the illness he was very active in landscape architecture and playing golf. He seems to be recovering quite well and is up and about in good humor. He especially enjoys listening to mysteries. We certainly send every good wish for a rapid recovery out to David.
If you have any information please feel free to send it along to me.
Until next column, '23 Skidoo.
