Ruth Kramer returned to California, where she stays busy and will remain until May. Her address is 42-495 Adams Street, Bermuda Dunes, CA 922 01. She will visit Antarctica in February.
And speaking of that continent, little did we realize the effect Dick and Mary Olmstead's Antarctic trip last year had on them. Having seen the Strait of Magellan and crossed the Drake Passage, they are now emulating those hallowed circumnavigators. Their round-the-world cruise will last 170 days (Nellie Bly did it in 70!). We presume the accommodations on the Statendam are better than on Ferdinand's flagship or on the Golden Hind, but we hope they took Captain James Cook's advice and brought some limes along.

Good news comes from Whip and Adeline Walser. He had stitches removed from an old cataract and lens transplant operation, and his vision is now "plus-or-minus ok." Her shortness of breath is much relieved and they plan to take the MV Polaris to Lisbon, France, and London in April.
Jim Whiton attended a Hillsdale (Mich.) College Hostel, and was "exposed to a concentrated dose of anti-government-control philosophy, with a strong flavor of ultra-conservative Religious Right seasoning. When I asked why anyone isn't able to pray as he chooses, and added if prayer must be a sort of political speech delivered by a designated leader, well . . . Some in the class were not amused. I still admire the college for refusing federal aid," Jim said.
We have lost two more fine classmates, Wilbur "Bud" Templin and Harold "Bud"Hubbard. Obituaries will be in the Alumni Magazine later.
