"Henrietta and I are happily retired from school Administration even though it is a rewarding job!" So writes Paul Cook from San Clemente, Calif. We wish you both a bunch of beautiful years ahead.

Don and Kay Allen celebrated their 50th at New Seabury on Cape Cod (we couldn't find it on the map). They later attended an Elderhostel at Silver Bay on Lake George and visited Crown Point and Fort Ticonderoga.

Marv Chandler took me to task, and rightly so, for misspelling (or misnaming) our outstanding newsletter editor. I named him Ackerman, and we all know he's BobAckerberg. We hope, Marv, that with your sharp eyes you noticed on the masthead of Bob's letter that my first name was misspelled. In November Marv left his Carmel, Calif., home for Tequesta, Fla., to golf, fish, sing in a chorus, and act as treasurer of a condo.

By now all of you will have received or are about to receive a transcript of the symposium the class held at our 60th. We think you will find it interesting.

At the mini-reunion, October 16-17, Professor of Geology and Dean of Graduate Studies Dick Birnie spoke about the graduate programs. There are about 200 students in the Arts and Sciences and 200 at Thayer and the Med School, well under the limit often percent of undergraduates. About 1,300 courses are offered for undergraduates, and only eight or ten are taught by graduate students, a truly remarkable figure.

At the mini we learned that:

Handy and Dawn Auten have a farm of 180 acres at Cornish, N.H., and three horses. One of them is 38 years old, can't eat, and has to be hand fed alfalfa tablets!

Ed Marks, who was there with Vera, and who has spent over 50 years in U.S. and international programs dealing with humanitarian concerns, is now compiling a book on the art treasures of the United Nations.

Mike Cardozo is writing the second volume of the history of the Association of American Law Schools. He is chairman of the board of editors of the Journal of Supreme Court History.

We sadly report the deaths of John Warren Moore, and John F. Barry Jr.
