On April 29 the College held its third Wearers of the Green gala in Boston, this time with a first: eight alumni who were inducted as "special" Wearers.

The every-five-years ceremony honors Dartmouth's greatest athletes and coaches All Americans, national champions, Olympians, major league professionals, three-time first-team All Ivys, and Ivy Players of the Year. This year 95 alumni and students, plus six coaches, were inducted. And then there were the "Specials," people who made significant contributions to Dartmouth athletics over a long period: the late Corey Ford '21A, Philip McInnis '36, and Lester Godwin '30; plus Larry Leavitt '25, John Manley '40, T'41, Donald Radasch '35, and Ron Boss '61.

The coaches: Arthur Allen '32 and William Hurst (sailing), Robert B. Clark (men's soccer), John Morton (skiing), Vin Lananna (cross country and track), and Jackie Hullah (women's basketball).

Two hundred former and new Wearers of the Green attended.
