Even now, pleasant memories of a highly successful, record-breaking 65th are still dancing through my skull, stimulated by letters from others who enjoyed it. Harrison Condon remarked that he'd had only fleeting conversations with most of the others, as our time was so fully scheduled, and this was probably the "Last Hurrah." More optimistically, Ted Wolf says, "See you in June 2000; mark you calendar." Bill Fenton hopes some of us may meet in the meantime at the annual Class Officers Weekend. Harrison also remarked about missing old friends who didn't attend, but how nice it was to see several who rarely, or never, had attended reunions.
I had already been thinking that the C.O.W., usually the first weekend in May, could be the launching pad for a mini-mini, i.e., for a day or two at Woodstock or elsewhere near Hanover, unfettered by a program. And you wouldn't have to be a class officer.
I was saddened this week to receive the report of Bill OBrion's death on July 4, though not really surprised, as he had been ill for sometime. Not only had Bill been active in class activities and a regular at reunions, but also he was one of the few Easterners ever to attend our western reunions in Ojai. I remember that he lost a ball one day on Ojai's beautiful, mountaingoat golf course, and then found it on his next round the following day. We extend our condolences to Peg, who also had become one of our regulars.
