I received the following from our '27 president: "I got a call last night telling me of Bill Laighton s death. Bill and I for some reason got into trouble together. On a dulcet spring evening we managed to get to a junction just as a very slow freight was lumbering through. It carried a number of tank cars with low rails along the east side and, jumping aboard, I called 'Come on, Bill, let's take a ride.' Off we went, getting colder by the minute. The train slowed coming into Windsor, and two frozen freshmen left the Vermont Railway.
"We wandered through town. I then heard music from the second floor of a building. We investigated but it wasn't for us.
"Just as everything was looking bleak, a green touring car came through. The driver was a classmate, Leon Greenbaum. He took us to Hanover and dropped us at the Inn. What a welcome lift that was!
"Next time we were off to Boston, then Wellesley and then New York City with dates with some chorus girls, courtesy of Roy Flannery."
You classmates must have interesting incidents from your undergraduate days. Let's hear!
