I have a feeling that there won't be enough room in this column for all of the news that has accumulated over the past few months, so I'll jump right into the letters piling up on my desk. You'll have to wait another month for the scoop on the '92 weddings (and believe me, there are a lot!).
You may recall the delinquent classmates whose names I listed in an earlier column. Out of the eight people noted, I heard from two: Kevin Frank and Kevin Franck (no relation). Kevin Franck received his master's in biomedical engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 1994, and is now working towards his Ph.D. in audiology (the study of hearing loss) at the University of Washington. In Baltimore, Kevin says, he spent a lot of time with DeVere Beard, who is teaching and creating—art. Kevin Frank, on the other hand, spent three seasons as a ski instructor in Vail, a few months in L.A. working on a documentary on rock and roll, and is now in Chicago looking for a "real job" and writing a book. (The similarity ends with the names, you've noticed). This Kevin reports that Tom Paganucci is in graphic design for a publishing company in Connecticut, and Nick Mourlas received a master's in electrical engineering from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Sarah Freitas graduated from University of Chicago Law School and is now clerking at the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in Hartford. She and Christopher Wall are engaged and will marry in August 1996. Christopher received a master's from Boston University and his play, Spring Forward, Fall Back, was performed at the Playwrights' Theater in Boston in April. Christopher and Sarah report that Jeanne LaForgia recendy received her master's in vocal performance from B.U., and Henry Spindler is still studying at MIT. Other '92s studying law at U. Chicago are Thies Kolin, Andy Rostenberg, Julie Conner, and Carl Nichols.
A note from the Henry Luce Foundation announced that Andrea Higgins was one of the winners of the 1995 Luce Scholars competition. The president of the Foundation comments that Andrea is "a remarkable young woman whom we are delighted to welcome to the program." Unfortunately, he does not explain what, exactly, "the program" entails.
Ben Wang was recently appointed to the Alumni Council of the Williams College-Mystic Seaport Maritime Studies Program (Ben participated in the program in the fall of 1991). He is now teaching biology at the Berkshire School in Sheffield, Mass.
Corey Quinn writes to dismiss any rumors that she and Tim Zielman are finally engaged. They are not, but they both moved to Hartford this summer, where Tim will become a first-year lawyer at Updike, Kelly. Corey is hoping to enroll in a master's program in education at U-Conn. According to Corey, Anne Connally has returned from the Peace Corps in Togo; Krissy Atwater is starting law school (Georgetown or Berkeley) this fall; Todd Donovan is "doing" defense engineering in Syracuse; Jessica Lynn is studying at Fordham Law School; and Vanessa Kitzis is in med school at Albert Einstein in New York City.
