Warren F. Daniell, who continues as our class alumni coordinator, spoke to an audience of 140 past and present members of the Dartmouth Outing Club at the 75th anniversary meeting at the Moosilauke Ravine Lodge.

Warren told of his experiences when he broke the record for the College Long Walk record, which still stands. The contest was to see who could walk the most miles in the least time.

In September 1920 Warren set out to reach Massachusetts in under 24 hours. This attempt to reach the Massachusetts line established a new Dartmouth long-dis tance, one-day walking record of 86 miles that has not yet been equaled. Between sunrise and sunset Warren walked from the Upper Valley to the Massachusetts border.

At this meeting of the Outing Club Warren was escorted by his son, Jere '55. For many years Jere was chairman of the Dartmouth history faculty. He was also with us at practically every class reunion for the past 40 years.

Warren is presently recovering from hip surgery. He thanks all of the 1922 contributors to the 1995 Alumni Fund.
