In Dartmouth's 1994 annual report on the Will to Excel campaign, a number of classmates were honored. Scott Cleary pledged $25,000 to create the Cleary Family Scholarship Fund. Jim Bildner pledged $12,500 to create an endowment to support the DOC and the Moosilauke Ravine Lodge. Jim, Steve Gray, and Tom Wood all received Chairman's Citations for Outstanding Service in recognition of their efforts to support the Alumni Fund during 1994. In addition, more than 50 classmates were cited for giving to the College at very generous levels during 1994. As a class, we have much to be proud of.

Laura Gordon Kutnick lives in Redding, Conn., with her husband, Dale, and two sons Toren and Varyk. After graduation Laura worked in the communications field for ten years. After studying film in France for a year, she earned an M.A. in communications from the Annenberg School at University of Pennsylvania in 1977. Over the next eight years, she had a number of fascinating work experiences, including with the Aspen Institute's communications department in Washington, D.C.; press relations for Ted Kennedy's presidential campaign; ABC network in N.Y.C. working on documentaries for the series ABCClose-Up;and a CBS-TV medical series. Laura married Dale, a Yale graduate, in 1987. Dale has his own five-year-old start-up company in information technology, consulting to Fortune 500 companies. The company has a global presence with offices in Western Europe, Asia, and Israel, employing more than 150 people. Laura is currently a fulltime mom who likes having a lot of young people in the house and doing good things for the community. The Kutnicks are all avid skiers who ski 30 days a year in Utah. They head for the black-diamond trails at Alta and Snowbird.

Jack Foley was recently named winner of the first Clark University John W. Lund Community Service Award. The award, believed to be unique in higher education, recognizes the contributions made to the city of Worcester, Mass., by faculty, students, or staff members at Clark University. Jack is Clark University's business manager and director of community relations, president of the Advocates for Excellence in Public Education, and chair of the Medical City Citizens Advisory Committee. In honoring Jack, Clark President Richard P.Traina called him "quintessentially Clark in your commitment to assist, enhance, and improve the world where you are." (Didn't John Kemeny charge us with doing exactly that at graduation?) As president of the Advocates for Excellence in Public Education, a group that raises awareness of educational issues, Jack co-chaired the successful grassroots campaign in 1991 that resulted in a Proposition 21/2 override for the funding of public education in Worcester. The Medical City Citizens Advisory Committee reviewed and recommended changes to the Environmental Impact Report for both Medical City and the Gateway Project. As director of community relations, Jack has also represented Clark to a variety of development corporations and business associations. In his spare time, Jack has also been active in a variety of Worcester-area community associations, including the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Central Massachusetts. Jack and his wife, Robin, live in Worcester. Stay in touch.
