Last June on Block Island, Norm Richter married Pamela Thornton (Hollins'88). Guests included PhilOdence and Bill Conway. Currently serving as international tax counsel at Treasury, Norm testified last fall before the Senate Finance Committee.
Bill Potter, a graduate of New York Medical College, is a pediatric ophthalmologist in Somers, N.Y. Having completed a fellow ship at the Wills Eye Hospital, Bill teaches at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and specializes in socalled "eye turn," pediatric cataracts and glaucoma, infant tearing difficulties, and adult eye-muscle disorders and double vision.
Cleveland-based Austin Powder Cos. has appointed Jim Boldt treasurer and chief financial officer. Established in 18 33, Austin Powder is the world's oldest explosives manufacturer. With facilities in 19 countries, it manufactures a full line of high explosives, blasting agents, and initiation systems for mine, quarry, construction, and seismic operations. Jim earned his M.B.A. from Michigan and prior to joining Austin Powder was president of American Alloy Corp. In his new position, he will manage the financial and administrative operations of the domestic and foreign units. The Boldts live in Shaker Heights.
Rich Pugh is general counsel of Fremont Financial Corporation in Santa Monica, Calif. He and Beth have two kids, Molly 3 and Brian 1. Rich's most recent pro-bono client was rumored to be Ted-O.
Neal Luppescu reports that he recently ran into Tracey Harden and Gail FrawleyGranowitz at a party in centraljersey. Tracey is a journalist and lives in Chappaqua, N.Y., with her husband, Mike Neill, and their two children. Frawls is a new addition to the anesthesiology department at Somerset Medical Center in Sommerville, N.Y., where Neal has been a G.I. specialist for several years. Gail's husband does medical research for Schering Plough. Neal, his wife, Virginia, and their two children, Caroline and Gregory, live in West- field, N.J.
Last fall Puddie Hauge Sword launched a new business in computer consulting and design on the Macintosh platform. She expects to begin a children's health network on the Internet sometime this year.
