Textile artist Joan Morris of the costume shop at Hopkins Center has been chosen as one of five textile designers to represent the United States at an international textile exhibit in Tokyo. A teacher of arts and crafts as well, Morris's specialty is shibori, a 1,500 year old technique of creating a three dimensional illusion in fabric with inventive manipulating and dyeing.
