Our 70th Reunion was a great success June 8-10,13 classmates and 35 guests, including eight Newtons were in Hanover. Present for the class were Pete Blodgett with Louise, Francis Brown of Maine, our Arizona rancher Francis "Bud"Brown, former literary editor of the New York Times Webster Collins (with B. Carter White '55, attending), Bernard and Marian Levison,Dick and Caroline McDonough, KennethMontgomery, Scoof and Gertrude Newton,Richard O'Neill, and Mark Emerson.

Bud Brown's Isabelle wasn't able to come because of injury to her legs. We missed her keenly. In her place came two daughters. Both Francis Browns conquered difficulties, health, and distance! Admirable. Rancher Bud still rides a great deal. His heart is in the saddle.

Coming the greatest distance were Audrey Geisel (Calif.), Dick Montgomery and the O'Neills (Ore.), Bud Brown and daughters (Ariz.), Mrs. William Bunting and daughter Susan (Canada). It was a great treat to see Audrey Geisel, also Marion Abel, who has been such a strong supporter of the class and its functions. Larry Leavitt gave us a rousing welcome and reminded us of our obligations to the class.

Several of our guests took in the Commencement exercises. Newton children Erika and Nancy and Dick went swimming in the river and climbed Velvet Rocks.

The closing event on our second day was, fittingly, a talk by Radford Tanzer about our class scholars, ten in number, all of whom are doing very well. He was preceded by Professor Pease, who gave a stimulating talk about Ted Geisel. We disbanded at 3:00 on the 10th, very well pleased with our reunion. More in next letter.
