Here's some more really old news that is hopefully not too stale to satisfy your classmate curiosity. I received an e-mail from Matt Trusch back in...ummm...April (remember, the keywords to keep in mind while reading these articles is, "lag time"). Anyway, Matt has been busy for the past two years working for Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong, working on deals primarily in India, Indonesia, Korea, and China. However, Matt will be throwing in the towel this fall in order to approach Asian studies in a more academic setting. "I will be attending the regional studies-China master's program at Harvard, and living with my old roommate Gene Park."Laura Lee (Hardegree) Davis e-mailed me a couple of...seasons...ago to let me know about her post-Dartmouth life experiences. As you may recall, Laura Lee and Ken Davis got married shordy after graduation, and "have been living on Cloud 9 ever since," she writes. "We've been living outside of Philadelphia for close to two years, and we're finally moving." Laura Lee and Ken will be taking Cloud 9 all the way to Carolina, where Ken will start business school at Duke. Laura Lee will continue working as an analyst at Foster Higgins, a management consulting firm, by telecommuting. Laura Lee also sends the scoop on a few other '94s: Elissa Slovik is living in Boston and applying to medical school this fall. Kelly Bell is working for Andersen Consulting in Adanta, but wants to make a career change to counseling. She's hoping to begin her master's work in January. Jeremy Eisen e-mailed to tell me about an event he attended in New York City. It was a benefit for "Christmas in April" (...remember, "lag time"...), a New York-based charity which improves the living conditions of people in lower-income housing. "Over 600 people attended," writes Jeremy, and there was a strong showing of Dartmouth alums. Among the many Dartmouth '94s in attendance were Chris Bartell, Jen Bishko, Gib Dunham, Jordan Frank, Ally Hyun, Sarah Jozus, ErikaKatz, Dan Lukas, Tim Martin, Peter Moore,Jeff Yasuda, and many more. Amie Rappaport hosted the event, as she sits on the board for this organization. "She did an AMAZING job," writes Jeremy, "and all of her classmates should be proud," as they raised almost $20,000! As a side note, Jeremy also mentions that he is starting med school at UPitt this fall. All that and MCATs too! Okay, I just can't do it.. .I cannot end an article without it.. .in fact, the article seems incomplete without it.. .it's not even June anymore, but that doesn't seem to stop you people! I guess it's not just Spring Fever after all, "it's just plain love." Kathy Zallos writes, "I'm getting married!" Kathy and fiance, Paul Wood (whose sister Roseanne, by the way, is an '87), both worked at Bayßank, and it was love in the credit office. Paul still works for BayBank as a corporate credit analyst, and is finishing his M.B. A. at Boston College. Kadiy works at Amwest Surety Insurance Cos. as an underwriter, and is beginning the M.B.A. program at B.C. this fall. "We are planning a June 1997 wedding," writes Kathy. "I am thrilled!" Congrats to both of you! As for the rest of you, please drop me a line and let me know what's up I don't care if you're unemployed or unmarried or are feeling generally unskilled and unprepared for life these days.
