'Twas the night before Christmas... Electronic wizardry continues to revolutionize our lives—is anyone surprised? This weekwas simultaneously thrilling and historic; our class e-mail list, meticulously compiled by Phil "Philly Cheesesteak" Odence and Burr "Gee, It's Cold Outside" Gray, was fired up to take the pulse on a class project. Over 50 responses were flashed to '79 Central virtually overnight, proving the worth and efficiency of e-mail as a communication tool. This out of 1 SO or so working addresses collected over the past year. As Michael McCoy so aptly put it: "I'm a sucker for e-mail. I've never mailed in one of those little green cards, but give me an e-mail and I can't resist replying. A dysfunction of the '90's..." Dysfunction or not, e-mail promises to be invaluable to the cohesiveness and direction of our class as a whole. Those of you already in the groove know full well of what I speak. Everybody else get on line! Send your address (with our class and your ID#, if you remember it) to: or to the Web site: . I know John G. is smiling, wherever he is. Details of our final decision will be forthcoming, so stay tuned.

When all through the house... The Rev. Dr. Gregory Sharkey wired in from the nether slopes of the Himalayas where he is a Jesuit "missionary" in Kathmandu. Good work if you can get it. Tom "T." Bird and his wife Tracey have moved to Concord, Mass., from Menlo Park, Calif., with their two boys. He looks forward to getting back in touch with the College. Didn't they turn Kappa Sig into a sorority? Be ready for anything Birdman, a lot has happened since we've been there.

Mike Wilkinson took time out to bring us up-to-date; "We finally gave birth to Danielle Sherese a year ago September. Our first, so I'm still in that 'How could I have ever taken for granted the benefits of a good nights' sleep stage.' Daddy duty is fun. The training and consulting firm I started, Leadership Strategies, is suffering (a good thing!) as I strive to beat it home before her bedtime each night. The business is going well, however, we're up to 14 people. We just opened our Dallas office and are striving to open Chicago in the next six months. Opening the Hanover branch can't be more than 18...light years away!" Long time Mike, great to hear from you!

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse...

Cheryl Morgan and I had a most pleasant conversation one misty Sunday morning and she was so kind to fill me in on her trials and tribulations. Cheryl is an assistant professor of French at Hamilton College, up for tenure next year. She spent the last year in Paris on a Chateaubriand (no, not the steak) fellowship. Hoping to find some fellow '79s in the City of Light, she had no such luck. When she's not working on her book about Delphine Gay de Girardin, she and husband Harold spend time with their seven-year-old, Eleanor. A full and challenging slate, she assured me. Good to catch up Cheryl. I look forward to reading about the Vicomte and hearing that you were tenured.

On that note I say, Merry Christ?nas to all and to all a good night.

Best wishes for a healthy and happy Holiday Season. See ya next year.
