The College's attraction increases: in the five years since this year's graduating seniors applied to Dartmouth—among a pool of 8,076 high school seniors—applications for admission to Dartmouth grew by 39.5 percent, to 11,273 for class of 2000 candidates. Applications this year alone were up 14 percent, versus a one-percent increase for Harvard.
