I seem to have struck a chord in a few '74s several months back with my quote of David Grayson, so perhaps it's time for another: "I do not believe you can do today's job with yesterday's methods and be in business tomorrow."—Nelson Jackson

Hence I reiterate my appeal to those who have not yet re-invented thyselves to get going. The next phase of the American Revolution is upon us with the ever-expanding exploration of cyberspace.

Omnipresent Big Appier Chas Carner inks in from the center of the universe (i.e. NYC) to report his recent recognition by fellow Green Gothamites. Seems chas has been giving quite a bit of his time and energy to "demonstrating over a number of years a special generosity of spirit and quality of effort that helps the Dartmouth Alumni Association of NYC to better serve the College and its alumni." And so it is that the D.A.A.N.Y.C. has seen fit to award our talented colleague with the Reuben Resnikoff '67 Volunteer Service Award. The perennial '74 artist-in-residence seems always willing to promote various cultural activities through D'ART BLOCKS, a local alumni club project he helped start around '87. Chris Pfaff, our chief class agent, has been pleased with Chas's ability to link his artistic skills and interests with fundraising And by the way, the NYC Club has a W3 home page!

As some of you know, Rick Ranger,Tom Ludlow, and Buck Becker have been talking to me about a class of '74 home page. We thought we would recruit some volunteers (e.g. computer jocks like Dave Marston) in the class to participate in the design and development of this project. It will be cool to have a finished product by the time June of '99 gets here. Applications are accepted at anytime, with a warning and disclaimer that those who come forth will be put to work immediately. You know who you are.

Robert Branham is a professor of rhetoric and director of debate at Bates College. Dr. Branham has distinguished himself since graduation in the field of speech communication by writing scholarly research treatises on the subject of human communication. (Anyone remember Speech 23—"Reading Out Loud"?) I honestly don't have the space to list Bob's incredible accomplishments (I only get 600 words a month, unlike Ranger, who has half a tree). But it makes me think that maybe we should have a class of '74 multimedia show at the 25th. Any takers? You know where to find me.

Senator Tom Eggleston (Yes, Sir!) is now a used-car salesman. Only kidding, Eggy. Tom is now president (hmmm, I like the sound of that) of Driver's Mart, a newly formed chain of what is to be 100 high-quality, high-volume used-car dealerships across the United States. Tom was featured in the WSJ earlier this year after his previous stint with Amway International. Any of you who've read the lead article in Business Week mid-February know that this ain't no foolin' around on the big boy's part. Yo, Eggman, what'll ya' give me for a '92 Explorer and a '90 Miata (both "loaded")? This move may cause a fair number of us to drive to Hanover for the next Reunion.

Wear sunscreen and don't forget to take your iron. And drink plenty of fluids. A public service message from a newly crowned Master of Public Health.
