Welcome back, my captive readers. I hope the summer months were as good to you in all respects as they were to me newswise. I begin this fourth "columnar" year surrounded by reams of yellowed newsprint and assorted letters, so without the usual "bullshooting," leave us get underway.
A "while back" this scribe took leave of the Sunny South for a pilgrimage northward; more specifically, a journey to Swampscott, Mass., to serve as best man in Hank Stephenson's wedding. Hank married Joan Hadley of Swampscott on Saturday, August 16 (vows were exchanged at exactly three-forty-two o'clock EST). Dartmouth was well represented at the reception that followed. HartPerry, Kilt Andrew, Stearns Martin and Bernie Siskind were the Fifty-fivers on hand. Dave Hall '51 (adopted '55), Jim Stead '54, Jim Clark '54 (head usher), and Dave Pope '54 (usher) rounded out the Big Green contingent. Hank and Joan, a Bradford Jr. alumna, left the following day for a honeymoon in Bermuda. When they return they'll be settling in Kennebunk, Me., where Hank's currently working as a salesman for Socony Mobil.
Following one of the pre-nuptial feasts I ran into Larry Freier and reminisced briefly on "the old days" as roommates in Middle Fayer. Larry's now with the Raytheon Tube Division in Boston, living in Cambridge with Pete Bullis '54, and anxious to see any Dartmouths in the area.

So much for matters matrimonial - for a while, at least. Here are some miscellaneous meanderings of Men of '55. Pete (Krout)Dromeshauser sent lengthy greetings from the Far East early this summer - not early enough to make the June issue, though. Pete married Donna Wray last June, honeymooned for thirty days and then headed for a year's duty in Korea as a GCI controller for F-86's. Krout spent two weeks resting and recuperating in Itazuke, Japan. During that time, he visited Dick Drake, who's flying F-100's there. Sez Pete,
Doubt that anyone in the Far East has a better deal than Dick at present. He, along with six other bachelors, is living in a. 27-room Japanese mansion, complete with maid, houseboy cook, gardener and a huge garden and pool. I've enclosed some pictures we took at his place. The attire isn't exactly what you'd find at Brooks Brothers,' but it seems to be in style here. At any rate, the kimonos are good drinking outfits. A suggested title for the pictures - "War's Hell! Write the boys at the front."
Ace Hall finally slipped out of Uncle Sam's vise-like grip, and is touring Europe before settling down to his job with Westinghouse in Pittsburgh. Last word is from Vienna. Ace and companions have rented an Opel (car), have left Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland and Germany behind, and are headed for Italy and the Riviera.

Free medical care is now readily available to Fifty-fivers all as our Dartmouth brothers hang out their well-deserved shingles and sharpen their scalpels for their first real taste of the professional life. Dr. Jack Bryan is located in New Haven, Conn. Dr. BernieCarpenter can be found in Yonkers, N. The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania displays the shingles of Dr. Phil Mossman and Dr. Lew Weintraub. Dr. Stu Yunis is operating out of Glen Oaks, N. Y. Those in the Far West can look to Dr. John Stanley, who's a physician at the University of California Hospitals in San Francisco, for medical aid. Dr. Pete Teal is settled in Brookline, Mass. - position unknown at this writing. Dr. Bob Morse began interning at the University of Chicago Clinic this summer. Dr. and Mrs. Jim Hall are to be congratulated on a double blessing sent their way on June 21. Deborah Kay and Diane Sue Hall joined the clan on that memorable date.
