Accolades for Eddite Chamberlain, at Lynn (Mass.) Classical High School and PaulGuibord, at Melrose (Mass.) High School. Each were seniors among the men inducted this year into their schools' Athletic Halls of Fame. In high school Eddie was an outstanding-football and basketball player, president of the senior class. At Dartmouth he was star halfback when the football team broke the "Yale Jinx" senior year after a tie the year before. From naval service during WW II he came back to Dartmouth to be assistant director of admissions, assistant director of athletics, and executive director of the College. Then during 25 years as director of admissions, more than 23,000 graduates were admitted—more than half the living alumni. A standout in hockey and tennis at Melrose, Paul was a winner in doubles tennis his senior year and named to the All- State hockey team the same year. At Dartmouth he was a star in hockey and tennis. He captained hockey in 1933 and helped lead it the next year to Ivy League championship. In the fall of his senior year he was named to the U.S. Olympic team and again in 1939, when the games scheduled for Germany were cancelled by outbreak of World War II. Continuing to compete in tennis tournaments throughout New England, he is a member of the New England Tennis Hall of Fame and the Dartmouth Athletic Hall of Fame.
