Kudos to Furm Stanley and the committee for producing the super 60th Reunion, which was "super" from all reports. The final attendance from the College as 69 alumni, total of 135, which was 29 percent of graduates. We were tied with 1947 and had the highest percentage other than 1992 with 32 percent. At the class meeting, a tribute to Tom Nast was read thanking him for serving as treasurer for 27 years. Bill Heroy was elected to succeed Tom as treasurer.

Fall foliage is another attraction for our mini-reunion on October 3-4, 1997. Cornell is the football opponent for the first home game, which is the reason for the October date. Co-chairs JohnJohannessen and Charlie Blaisdell have planned the following activities: dinner Friday evening at the Wheelock Room Hanover Inn, class meeting Saturday morning at Collis Hall, tailgate at the usual place after the meeting, football game, and dinner at the Norwich Inn Saturday evening. The Norwich Inn is a change and should provide an exciting finale for the mini-reunion. Rooms can be reserved at the Best Western in White River Junction. John has given Charlie permission to miss the Reunion, as he will be in Chicago attending the annual convention of the FBI Agents Association. Congratulations to Charlie, who will receive a plaque honoring him for serving as the president at the first convention 50 years ago. Charlie also served for five years as president of the DKE national organization and also as president of the Circumnavigators Club, of which John Johannessen and Ben Doran are members.

On a somber note we report the death of Elizabeth Bowen, widow of LenBowen, at Kendal. Their marriage was a WW II romance as they met in England where they were both in the same civil censorship detachment in Wales. After Lem retired from Burroughs Corp. in 1977, they retired to Hanover, where Elizabeth became active in local organizations and our class activities.

The get-well card sent to Carolyn and me, signed by the Reunion attendees, was much appreciated. Look forward to seeing you at the mini.
