Listen to Stan Berenson's reflection on our mini-re-union: "The mini-reunions provide a great opportunity to be with friends in a familiar surrounding with basically similar values and interests. We may come from different backgrounds and have different political concepts, but we all share a fondness for the College, and are grateful for the total Dartmouth experience and support its future development and growth. I personally have confidence in its leadership and direction."

Stan forwarded a copy of a letter from the College to Stan Lappin expressing appreciation for his providing the Hillel House at Dartmouth. Our class can be justly proud, Stan, that you have made this contribution to the campus life of students. The Hillel House joins Collis Center as places for gatherings of students and faculty.

Dartmouth's upset victory over Princeton was seen by Hank and Barb Pierce, Ben and Marge Duran, Russ and Lee Stearns,Roy ana Pat Cooley, Lanse and Flo Moore, Carl and Carolyn Erdman,Harvey and Em Tull, Roy Hatch, RoyAbbott, Bob Terwillinger, Connie Sayre, and Pat Olson. What other 50-year class gives that kind of support to Coach Teevens and the Big Green football team?

After the game; Barb and Hank Pierce hosted a delightful reception at their Princeton home with much discussion about the Danube trip next October, "60 Minutes," and the election. Many thanks, Barb and Hank, we all had a super evening.

Russ Stearns missed the mini-reunion as he is a member of the board of visitors for the School of Engineering at Duke University and was attending the annual meeting. He was asked to explain the Dartmouth-Thayer School approach, especially the emphasis on liberal arts in our curriculum.

Dana Prescott received the Chairman's Citation for outstanding service to the Alumni Fund, recognizing his dedication and hard work on behalf of the 1988 Alumni Fund. Bill Falion writes that Sam Dillon visited him in Santa Fe. Bill and Mary Lou returned from England in late September, but too late for the mini. Sam, I appreciated receiving your letter of congratulations, but where do I write you?

A call from Frank Robbin, who was rounding up his class agents, indicated he would miss the Princeton game as he would be in Arizona. Lanse and Flo Moore are on a trip to New Zealand and Australia to revisit his WW II travels.

Walt Heer, who sent along a change of address (September-May) to Sun City Center, Fla., is interested in the Danube trip. Carolyn and I were pleased to receive an invitation to a reception December 4 in Seatde celebrating the marriage of my Gile roommate Phil Swain and Phyllis Lamphere. Our best wishes to you and please come to the mini-reunion in September!

We extend the sympathy of the class to Gib Reynolds on the death of Betty on October 7. Rog Cheney died November 9; an obituary will follow. I suggest you read the biography of Rog written by Geri in the Golden Jubilee Report, page 151.
