We lost three classmates since our last column. Jack Treadway died on July 12, Bill Risleyon July 27, and Jack Reeder on August 5. Jack T. had wresded with Parkinson's disease for some few years and died at the Sweetwater Care Center, in the town in which he was born, Williamstown, Mass. Bill's death was sudden and unexpected, also in his home town of Litchfield, Conn. Jack R. died in Vero Beach, Fla. where he has been living for some few years.

We have a green card from Charlie Thompson saying that he and Jean have left his home of 80 years in Newton Highlands, Mass., and can now be reached at the North Hill Retirement Community, North Hill, Apt A406, 865 Central Ave., Needham, MA 02102. Charlie will be working on our 60th Reunion, under the aegis of Doc Tower and Herb Hirschland.

A note from Bob and Polly Cushman, at 7 Riverside Drive, Exeter, NH 03833, along with Betsy Emmons, and Bob and Jean Field. Cush suggests that it will take some time to get used to his new quarters. The Cushmans expect to continue to winter in Naples.

A pleasant note from Bob Alpert suggests his life is settling down a bit since the passing of his wife, Corine. But it couldn't be an easy transformation.

A young fellow by the name of Ryan E. Garcia wrote a thank-you note to our treasurer, Cornie Miller, indicating his excitement at coming to Dartmouth this fall. His initial visit to Hanover was made possible by our class. He comes from La Salle High School in California, where he was an outstanding running back. Cornie wrote him a nice acknowledgment.

Time Magazine carried a story in its July 28 edition that mentions Peter Hassrick, the son of the late Royal Hassrick. Peter was brought up in the west where his Dad owned and operated ranches. Time reports that Peter is director of the Georgia O'Keefe Museum, recently opened in Santa Fe, N.M. Royal hired your correspondent's son, Jim Jackson, as foreman of his Montana ranch a goodly number of years ago, before young James managed to purchase his own layout in New Mexico.
