"Yet how can we be silent and remember, The splendor and the fullness of her days." You all must come to Hanover for the 45th to enjoy being with each other again in that splendor. Dick Fleming & Co. have laid on a delightful program that emphasizes just that, getting together with your friends with some quality time. Although a number of options have been planned, the option to just spend time together is #1. That, and no dunning for the Alumni Fund, are going to be sacred at this momentous affair. And, the plan is:
Sunday, June 14, and Monday, June 15 • For those interested in visiting Moosilauke and the Ravine Lodge, come one day early. Put Blodgett, our class Tarzan, will be our guide. Arrive in the afternoon and be prepared for a wonderful program of song, dancing, and woodsman blarney the eve before the great climb. Climb Moosilauke on Monday, and return to Hanover by late afternoon.
• For the flatlanders, registration opens at 10 a.m., and there are a plethora of activities in the professional schools, faculty departments, plus a tour of Hanover during the day.
• 8:30 p.m.: Glee Club concert at Hopkins Center. Tuesday, June 16
• Brock Brower's seminar at 8:15 a.m. For those who attended the Washington maxi-mini in 1996, you will recall that Brock's program was superb and we can expect more of his insights on "The Nation as a Family" as we experienced in his book with David Abshire, PuttingAmerica's House in Order. • 10 a.m.: President Freedman will speak at Spaulding, and at 11:15 a.m. President Bob Malin will preside over the class meeting . Entertainment expected.
• Time with your friends, or a 2:30 p.m. Reunion College to acquaint alumni with Dartmouth today.
• 5 p.m.: Creative talent show and coffeehouse at Collis Common, and the '53 cocktail party right next door (which should make the creative talent show even more creative).
• 7 p.m.: Lobster and clambake at the Bema with entertainment by the Onion River Jazz Band.
• 8:30 p.m. will be our reunion auction for charity, also at the Bema, and 10 p.m. the tent goes on! Wednesday, June 17
• 9 a.m.: Memorial service at Rollins Chapel with Don Goss and the Rev. Cynthia Bell.
• 10:30 a.m.: Class picture at Dartmouth Hall.
• 12:30 p.m.: Buffet lunch at the DOC House with entertainment by the Norwich Umpah Band (is Don Goss playing the tuba with these cats?) after which take a stroll round campus and enjoy one another.
• 6 p.m.: Reception in Leede Arena in downstairs lobby area followed by 7 p.m. class banquet and dance with Bruce McGorril, Maine humorist, and the East Bay Jazz Ensemble (Wow).
