Column writing just took a quantum leap into the twenty-first century. With the use of DaveHaraway's e-mail address list, I sent out 120 appeals for news several days past my deadline. Within 24 hours I received more news than I received during my five-year stint. Yahoo! What follows are the gems from that correspondence.

Ann Quirk just completed a children's novel, Dancing with Great Aunt Cornelia, which will be published soon. Look for it.

Armed with the new alumni directory, Ann Duffy will be running around harassing old college boyfriends in Fairfield County.

Don Gaylord is completing his tenth year as a civilian analyst for the U.S. Army researching Latin America. His wife works with children with communication handicaps and feels she brings great empathy for the kids and their families as their son is autistic. They hope to attend Reunion and whispered perhaps Jim Boucher would attend, too.

Another classmate working with children is Gary Noel in New York. Gary is a pediatrician faced with the challenges of caring for HIV-infected children. They have a spring fundraiser in New York and they auction "some pretty neat stuff." Check it out.

My plea for news found its way to JeffRiedinger in the Philippines. Although his address shows Michigan State, he's overseas doing some research work there and in Australia for six weeks. He sends his best to the residents and guests of High Street.

A study m contrast—I got independent e-mails from Carol Muller and A1 Henning. He writes, "nothing in particular to talk about." She writes he has taken a new job in Silicon Valley. She is telecommuting to her job in Hanover. Their daughter just turned 13 and they're celebrating their 20th year of wedded bliss. Speaking of teenage daughters, Duke Holliday is looking for the instruction manual on bringing his two up right. He can be found practicing family medicine in southwest Virginia.

Kathy Phillips has a new book out. Title and publisher unknown.

Lucy Karl hoped to ride in this year's Boston-New York AIDS Ride with KenRothchild but had to back out due to an injury. Ken and Lucy's husband successfully completed the race and she hopes to join them next year. When not riding, she practices law in Concord and raises three sons.

I never considered Bill Narin much of a philosopher but he did pose these two penetrating questions. Should he have spent more time at Kiewit and less time at Heorot? Are. everyone's trouser waistlines shrinking or is it just the water out here?

Bill, the answers are no and no. To all of you who sent news, thanks and more thanks. What to expect at Reunion: fun and more fun. See you there!
