Our class can once again be proud of its participation in the Alumni Fund. The number of classmates dwindles, and this month we are sad to note the death of Tom Hayes of Boca Raton, Fla.; Bob Jones, Pinehurst, N.C.; Paul Goddard, Baldwin, N.Y.; and Squeek Redding, Bedford, Mass.
Squeek was a dear friend, and the principal spokesman and reason for our move to Winchester after retirement from the army. My four children regarded Squeek as the classiest dresser of all our friends. He and Loretta. who died some years ago, were both very much involved in the affairs of Dartmouth and Radcliffe. We shall miss him.
An update on the Hanover contingent. Art Nighswander goes to his law office several times a week. Dick Black is prettymuch confined to their apartment at Harvest Hill. Charlie Dudley continues to supply his Kendal Kaffee Klatch with interesting speakers from the College and surrounding community. It's a weekly affair, and we were told William Craig, the art. book, and theater columnist of die Valley News, recently appeared.
Rip is recovering from triple-bypass surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. We are very fortunate to live within a ten-minute drive of this marvelous facility with the best of doctors. We have also become great fans of Visiting Nurses and highly recommend diat organization.
In spite of everything, Rip still wrote a poem for the month.
"In law school thev have ethics class Most lawyers must have missed 'em It seems the Golden Cord of truth To them is mostly 'twist' ems.'"
