I don't have too much to report this month. I know, I told you that last month. But I came up empty trying to reach the following: Tom Cohn, Dr. Milt Cooper, Carl Bremer, Dave Chalmers, Frank Ettari, and Gus Gillaugh. Don't know where you were, but I hope vacationing and enjoying. I received a notice from the college about our own Mort Thalhimer. He was honored in May by receiving the Philos Award from the National American Red Cross. That is the organization's highest award for charitable giving. The Richmond-Times Dispatch wrote a fine article about all of Mort's accomplishments. Recently he chaired a committee that raised $6.2 million for the new Red Cross headquarters in Richmond. Now that's fund raising! Tom Adams, take notice. The most notable item in the news release, of course, was that Mort is a graduate of Dartmouth. But here are a few more things you should know about Mort. He's a director of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, the Jewish Community Center, the Metro Richmond Chamber of Commerce, and Will Rogers Memorial Hospital. Last March he received the Clara Barton Award, the highest Red Cross Award given for volunteer work. Pretty impressive, I'd say. Nice going, Mort. Couldn't happen to a better guy, and we're all very proud of you.

Al Belinkie is still practicing law in his native Bridgeport, Conn. Al's one of the leading matrimonial attorneys in the country. How do I know that? He told me. Only kidding, gang, but Al is among the best and should be. He's been doing it for 50 years. Another Connecticut attorney, Brad Morehouse, is still practicing out of Fairfield, Conn. Says he confines his practice now to the office. No more court work. Recently back from a trout fishing expedition up in the wilds of New Hampshire. However, he apparently is seeking new worlds (or trout) to conquer. Has a trip scheduled in February to go fishing for trout in Patagonia. You have any idea how far that is from Connecticut? I expect some great fish stories out of that trip. And who could doubt him.

Talked with Clark Judge, another Connecticut resident (Killingworth). He's still playing tennis. Has his own court (he asked: "Doesn't everyone?"). He said he went to England this summer, courtesy of his two sons, and saw some of the Wimbledon tennis matches. No, he didn't win some guy named Pete Sampras and he wasn't in our class. You Californians should know Clark's son "Corky" is sports editor of the paper in San Jose, Calif. Also in New England, found Don Furber, still in Sherborn, Mass. Sees Ham Bailey and his wife, Nancy, quite a bit.

Don and Margaret did a bit different thing recently. Down in Florida and took a voyage, or whatever, in a hot air balloon. Must say I've never had that adventure though I have plenty of hot air. Don't think they went as high as that guy "Down Under" who plummeted about four miles into thesea—and lived.

I'll be representing the class at Leadership Weekend. Second weekend in September. Hope to have more news after that. I do hope to see you at the mini-reunion.
