Heavy rain on the morning of the Yale game apparently did not deter any of the class who had made plans to attend the festivities at New Haven, as I counted 26 and probably missed a few. It did completely washout the annual picnic before the game and we all missed it. Just inside the gate I ran into Bud Clifford, who told me he was now living in New Jersey and working for American Tel and Tel in the Bronx, N. Y. Johnny Mitchell and Gordon King were down from Mass. Corny Miller, still operating in the grand manner, succeeded in getting 13 of his friends into the game on one ticket. Corny is working for Pratt and Whitney in Hartford, and Phil Sanborn has also moved up that way, having recently purchased a house in Newington. Chuck Grant and his wife were in the stands, having made the trip from Kent where Chuck is instructor in History at Kent School. Stan Brown, HankBritton, Bob Catherine, Hank Bagg, BobDickgeisser, Jim Fuller, Dr. Max Goldstein,Duke Lyon, Mac MacGilpin, Burt MacMannis, Bob MacLeod, Ed Waters, Ed Wakelin,Don Wheaton, Moose Wyman, Ted Wolfe and Paul Winship were other '39ers on the scene.
Clem Burnap and his family are sailing later this month on the Liberte for London where Clem will take up his work as Technical Sales Representative for Clark Bros. Cos. We have a good many of the class abroad, and during his travels in France, Italy and Belgium, Clem should see at least one familiar face.
Keith Anderson writes from Denver:
"Eight years in Manhattan was too much for us and we have now moved to Denver where I have taken a job as house counsel to some of the Boet tcher interests. We have bought a house at 2911 South Lafayette Drive in Englewood and if any of our friends in the class are ever here, we hope they will call us up. I have not seen any of our classmates except Dick Shaw, who is involved in simultaneously running his practice, moving his office and trying to get some Republicans elected."
A September 16 announcement in the NewYork Herald Tribune brought news of the marriage of Miss Mary Ellison of Chestnut Hill, Pa., to Mr. Henry Cornwall Hastings of Springfield, Mass. The bride attended Wellesley College. After a trip to Maine the Hastings will live in Springfield.
Steve Bradley, ski coach at the University of Colorado, has been appointed to manage the Winter Park recreational facilities in Boulder, Colo. Steve is married and has two children.
