So, nu? Jewish studies! Approved by the faculty two years ago, the Jewish Studies Program debuted this fall. Offering a minor, the program builds on courses In Jewish religion literature, culture, and Hebrew language that have already been taught for several years through various departments. Some new courses have been unveiled this term as well—the first-year semi-nar "Archeologists, Artists, and Adventurers: The Rediscovery of the Holy Land," "Israeli Culture: Literature, Music, and Film," "Contempo-rary Jewish Fiction," and "History of the Holocaust." In future terms students will be able to take several other new courses, including "tThe Jewish Family " (texts to include the Old Testaemntand Woody Allen), and "By the Waters of Manhattan: The Story of the Jewsin New York
