Macintosh no longer has a lock on Dartmouth's freshman class, The number of PC owners among this year's freshmen is double that of last year. Approximately 140 incoming students use PCs, compared with 60 lastyearand 35 the year before. There is now a PC-based version of Blitz Mail (the popular campus e-mail program) and the Kiewit computer store just started selling PCs. About 50 freshmen bought a PC computer from Kiewit. Still, the campus remains solid Macintosh country. Some 600 first-year students selected Apple's spiffy new iMAC.

Pcs have not upset the Apple cart.
