A few words about the silence of the clams. At our 65th last June it was reported that we had 171 living classmates, and one might expect to hear from some of them from time to time. We do, but mosdy from the regular communicators, for which we are thankful, but rarely from a mollusk. But why this inarticulateness that has struck so many? Could El Nino have a hand in this, too? We know that it has abnormally warmed Pacific waters where clams of all kinds live. Maybe Dick Stoiber, who has spent a lifetime studying rocks, earthquakes, volcanoes, and other aberrations of nature, can help us.

And now from two widows of deceased roommates. Dorothy Meyers, Charley's widow, was recently honored by the Allentown (Pa.) Art Museum Auxiliary with a Philanthropy Day award. She and Charley were active workers and supporters there for years. Ruth Kramer last November, with her four children, attended the first of the lecture series of the Irving W. Kramer, M.D., Visiting Professorship in Family Medicine, given at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. This chair was given last year by Ruth.

Class president Ed Marks and Vera spent 10 days in San Francisco to celebrate Thanksgiving and their tenth wedding anniversary with Vera's three children, who all work there. Vera and he then went to Bangkok and visited Vietnam, where Ed had worked in the refugee program for U.S. aid 30 years ago.

We sadly report the death of Howard A. Frisbie.
