"For the Lone Pine above her, and the loyal sons who love her." Dick Fleming and his Reunion Band of Great Renown have outdone them-selves on preparing program options for your enjoyment while visiting the Hanover Plain. Dick has reminded us that the primary program, however, is one of your choosing to permit you to spend some quality time with your friends without being hounded by "things to do" or the "Alumni Fund closers" as we were prone to do in past years. We have been assured there will be none of that, and these options are just that, options.

Sunday, June 14, and Monday, June 15—the Moosilauke Hike, for the stout of heart and legs, will convene at the Ravine Lodge during the afternoon for a program organized by Put Blodgett. Sunday afternoon and evening will be spent with each other over a hearty dinner and some great storytelling about the hearth. On Monday morning the hike commences with lunch at the top, return to the lodge, and then a recovering drive back to Hanover for registration at class headquarters. At 5:30 p.m. there will be a cocktail party at the tent, followed by a buffet Texas barbecue. The entire array of reunion classes will then be treated to a Glee Club concert in Spaulding at 8:30. Tuesday, June 16—Breakfast at 7:30 in Alumni Hall with a seminar led by Brock Brower at 8:15 until 9:45. At 10 a.m. President Freedman will speak to all the classes, followed by a class meeting in Moore Theater with president Bob Malin '53 presiding. And then at 12:30 we will have a picnic in the class tent with entertainment by the Norwich Oompah Band. At 5 p.m. Marion Blodgett and Ann Brower will host the '53 Creative Talent Gallery and Coffee House in Collis adjacent to the class cocktail party in the Collis cafeteria. Then one of the highlights of the Reunion will be the lobster bake and auction at the Bema, with entertainment provided by the Onion River Jazz Band as well as auctioneers Al Collins and Dick Goodman.

Wednesday, June 17—Dave Picker will provide a presentation on the entertainment industry at a continental breakfast at Alumni Hall at 8 a.m. Our traditional memorial service for those classmates who have gone on to their Creator will convene at 9:15 in Rollins Chapel with the Rev. Cynthia Bell and Don Goss presiding. This lovely service is always "the heart" of our reunions and we invite all to attend. The class picture follows on the Dartmouth Hall steps, then on to the DOC house at Occom Pond for a buffet lunch, again with the Oompah Band boys from Norwich. And, to conclude our 45th in Hanover before going on to the Basin Harbor Club, Fred Stephens will MC the class banquet and ball, featuring BruceMcGorrill, the Maine humorist, and the East Bay Jazz Ensemble. There will be plenty of time in between these events for the thing you really came to do in Hanover, which is spend time with your friends. "Her spell on them remains. They have the still North in their hearts, the Hill winds in their veins, and the granite of New Hampshire in their muscles and their brains."
