This month's mail brings news of major happenings on the career front. The Wall Street Journal reports that Bob Fell and DaveMorse are heading up InterActive Partners, a new company being funded by Bell Atlantic and other outfits. Bob and Dave were the founding directors of Crystal Dynamics, a game-software manufacturer. They will use this experience in InterActive which will create software for home shopping, casino gambling, and electronic games. Applications will offer opportunities for advertisers to place interactive commercials on these services.

When Warren Cook took over the Sugarloaf/USA ski area as president in 1987, the resort was bankrupt. Thanks to Warren's leadership, Sugarloaf is now showing a profit and is engaged in an expansion program. Warren led the buyout of the resort's stock, which left him with majority ownership. A recent news profile of Warren's marketing strategy made for very interesting reading.

Families of our class have also been in the media lately. Bob Thurer's Wife, Shari, has been getting major coverage for her new book, The Myths of Motherhood, a study of the standards of good mothering" set by culture and their current effect on women. Shari teaches psychology at Boston University, and her work has been well received in the Dress

Cai Sorbin is very proud of his son, who under his stage name, Luke Edwards, is starring in this summer's film release from Castle Rock, Little Big League. This is his eighth film so far. Pretty good for a boy of 14. Having seen the film, I know why Cai is proud of his work.

Bob Dalrymple must have felt a bit of deja vu as well as much pride recently when his daughter Melissa swam for Yale in the Dartmouth pool. According to the press Melissa is "on course to challenge some of her father's accomplishments made when Bob was an All-American swimmer." She already holds several Yale pool records.

On the athletic front, several classmates have shared their jealousy over Joe Alviani's 3:15 time in the Boston marathon. And Westwood High in Massachusetts has just inducted Dave Millane into its Hall of Fame for his basketball contributions at the school.

Special thanks to those who set up the two mini-reunions this year. In Boston 42 classmates made the dinner and—no surprise—Pete Rosser won the squash tournament.

In New York 118 people attended the Neil Simon play which Jerry Zaks directed, and a great time was had by all. Jerry is planning a production of A Funny Thing Happened onthe Way to the Forum next.
