Summer is winding down, but there is still time for a warmweather getaway before the leaves start to turn. Why not join us for our 'B7 fall minireunion in Hanover September 12-13? This will be a family-friendly event, so the little ones are welcome. Since we are almost at the halfway point between our 10th and 15th reunions, this may be the last time we gather as a class at Dartmouth until June 2001! If you have not already replied or if you have questions about the weekend, call Joe Voves at (203) 743-2644.

Here's the news that came my way during the summer hiatus:

Linda Williams has moved her pediatrics practice from Capital Pediatrics to the Lahey Hitchcock Clinic in Concord, NH.

Also in Concord is Dodd Griffith. He was recently named a shareholder and director in the firm of Gallagher, Callahan, and Gartrell. Dodd practices in the areas of corporate law, commercial and venture capital financing transactions, and regulatory compliance for financial institutions. He and wife Misty both graduated from Vanderbilt Law School and have lived in Concord since 1990. They have two daughters, Cecilia 3 and Susan 1.

Robin O'Connell is moving up in the world and living in paradise to boot! She has been promoted to associate with Helber Hastert & Fee, Planners Inc. in Honolulu, where she has been a planner since 1994. She has served as project manager on the design and implementation of an electronic plan prototype for the U.S. Navy and has contributed to a number of physical and environmental planning projects, including the Honolulu Bicycle Master Plan, the Pearl Harbor Naval Complex Master Plan, the Barbers Point Naval Air Station Reuse Plan, and the Puunene Airport Area Master Plan. Robin has a master of arts in geography and a professional planning certificate in urban and regional planning, both from the University of Hawaii. She has also worked for the United Nations Development Programme in Western Samoa and as an intern at the National Geographic Society.

The Worcester, Mass., firm of Mirick, O'Connell, DeMallie & Lougee has named Jack Shea an associate in its litigation department, practicing in insurance defense, medical malpractice, product liability, municipal liability, trucking and transportation, and general negligence. Jack was previously with the Philadelphia office of Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker.

Finally, Mark Elsbree joined The Conservation Fund in January to open a new Northwest office for the non-profit corporation based in Washington, D.C. The Conservation Fund is a small, aggressive, entrepreneurial firm that focuses on protecting and preserving special land and water areas including wildlife habitat, river corridors, parks, historical sites, and outdoor recreation areas. Mark is located in Sun Valley, Idaho, and spends his spare time skiing and playing senior league hockey. Before starting his new job, he spent five weeks in New Zealand bungee jumping, hiking, and fly fishing.

Where does this news come from, you ask. Well, I'll tell you. Nearly all my information is coming from news clippings forwarded to me from the College, and almost none of it is coming from you! So, if you'd like to read something more interesting than a series of dry and humorless news nuggets, then please write or e-mail me and make this column fun again! Even if you don't have a new marriage, new job, or new offspring to report, just share a snapshot of your everyday life. That's where the good stuff is.

Hope to see you at the mini-reunion!
