Bob Hamilton has been many places and done many things since graduation. You can find him now, during one of your trips to Hanover, at 24 Main St. in Quechee, Vt. He and his partner are proprietors of Antiques at the Sign of the Ordinary there.

Steve Katz wrote to the listserv: "I wish to thank...Bill Fiero and Hanny Mason for their reviews of Bill Bryson's book, A WalkIn The Woods." Steve not the Steve in the book!—goes on: "I propose that we walk a portion of the Appalachian Trail, timing it to arrive for our 45th Reunion in Hanover." Some hikers could start a month away; a few strollers might show up for just the last mile of two. Bill responded, "Steve's idea of a group of AT hikers walking into Hanover for the 45 th sounds great! What a way to reunion. I would suggest that spouses (and perhaps family or others) be welcome also."

Then Bruce Bernstein added, "I have not yet attended a reunion, but this might pull me in. My house...is about one mile from the trail.... If this comes off, anyone coming this way is welcome to spend the night, or use my house to meet up, or 'whatever.'"

Bill Breer retired from the Foreign Service in 1996 and is now "Japan Desk" at The Center for Strategic and International Affairs, a major think-tank in D.C.

Sam Bartlett, whose Foreign Service experience included assignments in El Salvador and Northern Ireland, isn't surprised when reconciliation negotiations take a long time. He recalls citizens so fanatically committed to their causes—or against the opposition's causes that they were willing to "bring the house down" in pursuit of their goals. After retiring, Sam helped with the sale of Amoskeag Mills to Fieldcrest/Cannon and is now consultingon the management side for the Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Abuse.

Angell Beza prefers to be known by that name rather than by the one I remembered and used in the September issue.

Dan Frankel invented a tool for tuning the "duplex scale" of fine pianos and is now asked to lecture about it (and repair and tune pianos) all over the world. Now that his new hip has let him become a passionate golfer, he will consult anywhere in return for expenses and greens' fees. Dan and daughter Elena had a great time at the Martha's Vineyard get-together. The camaraderie was so invigorating that he let AdamBlock use the listserv to invite classmates to his and Marcia's daughter Kirah's wedding.

Wendell Smith really got that message. He and Ginger went to the Frankel wedding, a "show of shows." It had been 42 years since he and Dan were roommates in the Phi Psi house. Wendell's business, Polestar Ltd., is in Connecticut, but they live in Bermuda most of the time.
