Cheers go out to Matt Little and Sara McKinstry for writing in this month. Matt has found himself based in Switzerland, sent by the U.S. government to work on the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands (an intergovernmental treaty between 112 countries). "It's perfect," he says, "because I am getting paid to be here, working on what I love, and every weekend I get on a train and go to a different city in Europe." Anyone wish to join him?

Sara is currently living in North Carolina, loving the sun, and preparing to graduate in May from Duke's Nicholas School of the Environment with a master's degree in environmental economics and policy. In her thesis she is exploring the relationship between marine scientists and the media, looking at questions such as how well scientists feel the press covers marine issues, and whether or not scientists feel responsibility to publicize their work to educate the public. Her academic work has also led her to conduct research for Island Press on the side.

Sara also reported that SamanthaSparks is at Duke, doing a joint master's in history/J.D. degree.

Finally, another wedding to announce: this past August, Sarah Branae married David Santoro '98. Sara, who was a bridesmaid, noted that the ceremony in Billings, Mont., was "simply beautiful." The pair are now living in San Francisco, where Dave is working for the computer giant Oracle, while Sarah is doing web design and consulting.

That's all I've got, unfortunately, as news has been a bit thin lately. Have I heard from you? If not, then please take a moment and" send me mail!
