Happy and Healthy New Year! (I know it's March, but I'm writing this in January.) I probably should begin with a correction. Josh Greenberg edited news nad written about him a few months back. Here's the rest of the story: Josh works at Boston Medical Center (nee Boston City Hospital), albeit in the pediatrics department. While he does some administering, his primary "claim to fame" is founder and director of a small, mullegal aid program for low-income children based in Boston. He was profiled for his work in the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly (9/28/98). Josh and his wife have two children named Ezra and Naomi. Alex Lloyd is an attorney at Clifford Chance, a UK-based law firm. His wife, Patricia, and he had their second child in August. Michael joins brother Bronwyn, who is four years old. Gail (Coppins) Gettens has solved the day-care crisis in Concord, N.H., as founder/director of The Children's Learning Center at St. Paul's School. In addition to handling the administrative details, she keeps her hand in the classroom by teaching ten hours per week. (So, she likes Playdoh.) Seriously, last August she was honored with the 1998 Administrator Award by the New Hampshire Association for die Education of Young Children to "recognize an outstanding administrator whose leadership qualities, managerial skills, and community contributions have significandy influenced early care and education in the State of New Hampshire."

Marion (Stouffer) Howard sent a little more detail about her September 1998 marriage to Mark Howard (Colby 'BS). Alums spanned an impressive number of classes: Dad John Stouffer '57, little brother John Stouffer '9O, Andrew Getraer and Jean Robertson Getraer '89, Mark Proctor, Gary Hirsch '85, Marcy Sitnik Reed '85, Scott Hapgood '98, plus some Tuck grads Chip Howard and Steven Langlois. Marion and Mark live in NYC, and she is director of merchandising business systems at Century 21 department stores. Terry (Galvin)Anderson announced the long-awaited arrival of her second child, born last March. Marisa Jeanne joins 10-year-old brother John, who loves every minute of entertaining his baby sister with gags and jokes. Marisa has already been up to Dartmouth twice, the first for her christening. Terry and her family moved to Princeton, N.J., for her husband's promotion within Bristol-Myers Squibb. Terry works for Covance, a pharmaceutical research and development firm, where she researches and analyzes drug pipelines to advise Covance on development opportunities. Others in Marisa's class include Avery Dow, daughter of Greg Dow and Kim; Katie Driscoll, daughter of DanDriscoll and Tracy; and Joe Wirth, son of Lauren (Geddes) Wirth and Bill. JeffCapwell is the vice president and treasurer of the Dartmouth Club of Central Virginia. By day he is partner in the law firm of McGuire Woods Battle & Boothe. Jeffs article entitled "Fixing Broken Retirement Plans Under New IRS Correction Programs," appeared in the September 1998 (vol. 1, no.1) edition of the Virginia BarAssociation News Journal. The article analyzes the Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System introduced by the IRS. I'm sure many of you out there recycle newspapers, bottles, cans, and the like, but have you ever heard of recycling a whole ship?!

Last September Jason Wyatt, lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, said good-bye to the San Diego-based USS Lewis B. Pidler, where he served for two years. The guided missile frigate was decommissioned and sold to the Egyptian government after more than 16 years of service.
