Everyone talks about the year 2000 computer problems, but we have a more important event our 60th Reunion. Sam Williams has agreed to be Brownie's co-chairman. Start making your plans now. Lew Chipman made his annual January visit to Hanover but skiing was rained out. He remembers while in medical school there was nothing like a crisp fall morning to get one to an 8 a.m. histology or histopathology class. Lew heard from "Doc" Darnley, who is enjoying his large and nice family.

Cliff Holmes sent a little known historic event that happened in the Baker Library. There were two elevator shafts but only one elevator to return books to all levels of the stacks. At each level there was a door with a window in it. Don Lieber '39 made the empty shaft his private mountain climbing area using hand holds built into the shaft. You guessed it Cliff gave it a try. One day he heard a person approaching the shaft window but didn't make it past the window in time. The cleaning woman reported the in cident as the "ghost in the gray gabardine slacks."

Brownie sent news of the annual Lake Wales University School reunion. Attending were Kay and Jack Ingersoll, Mevie and Eb Cockley, Ginny and Karl Bruch, Tina and John Moore, Crosbie MacMillan, Loomie Rogers, and Brownie. Scotty and Brownie were the Dartmouth recruiters at University School with 16 of a class of 64 becoming members of Dartmouth 1940.

Creight Holden hasn't run out of stories. "The most important thing I learned from a liberal arts education was to always go to bed with a good book or with someone who's read one."

It was good to hear from Tom Todd. He is the person to contact if you want to know about trips on the Clipper Adventure.
