Our mid-Mass issue begins with Cathy Green Solomon, a mid-Mass resident through all four of her years at Dartmouth: "I'm living in Chicago with my husband, Bob, and our two daughters (ages 7 and 4). After Stanford b-school I worked for Quaker Oats in marketing and strategy and finally 'retired' last year to be a full-time mom. I never dreamed I'd be bringing up two kids in the middle of a big city but it's actually terrific. I'm involved with some education-related volunteer work." The Rev. Chip Hankins works for Sitzman, Morris & Lavis, which sells insurance and other benefits to small-growth companies. He lives in the East Bay hills on a beautiful 20-acre horse farm. His wife, Phillipa, is a veterinarian. Their son Jasper is two. Greg Jones and Erie Christensen co-founded an Internet-based hotel reservations company, WorldRes, in 1995. They've raised $30 mil of venture capital, employ 70 people, and have 7,500 hotels on the system. Greg's wife, Amanda, is a travel writer and photographer covering adventure travel in developing countries. Their daughter Indigo is one year old. Eric moved to London last March to launch the company's European operations, together with wife Sue Elliot and their two children, Kyle 8 and Sarah 5. Sue is doing part-time legal work for WorkdRes and is actively involved with the American School there. Matt Yee lives in Honolulu and just finished a string of sell-out solo cabaret shows. Matt writes: "My partner Paul and I stayed with Sean Burke and his lover in Paris last spring. Sean and I toured Europe by car and on the way back I stopped in to see John Rassias to try out my revived French. DickPinkham is planning to move back to the Northeast after an extended stay in Colorado. Karl Klug is in L. A. living just down the street from Mike Fiedling. Karl is finishing his Ph.D. at UCLA. Mike is working at a huge international advertising firm handling the Nestle account. He is also one of the most centered and spiritual ad execs I know. We meet somewhere in the world every year just to catch up and reconnect. Our favorite place seems to be the Sunday brunch buffet line at Cesar's Palace in Las Vegas. Our ritual is to ask the great Diva Goddess to bless us with enough money to pay for the meals, and she hasn't failed us yet! JohnKing is entering the world of film production. He's busy with a number of film projects underway. And in between, he fits in soccer coaching with his kids, PTA meetings, and also some consulting. He and his wife, Rachael, have a humongous house in Cabin John, Md., with a maid. I plan to spend all my vacations hanging out with them."
