SOMETHING ALMOST ARCHETYPAL illuminated the work of College photographer Adrian Bouchard '41 A, whose work spanned the years 1937 to 1978. He was a master at lighting, at capturing posture, at recognizing those parts of College life that transcended to myth. Along with John Dickey's flannel shirt, Bouchard defined the image of a robust, vigorous, granite-of-New-Hampshire Dartmouth. That image—despite the truer, fuller picture of the modern College—persists in the public's eye even to this day.
