THE DARTMOUTH CLUB of Eastern Connecticut had its first meeting in some time at Doctor "Hug" Lena's New London manse on February 12. Buffet supper was preceded by cofor movies and informal chatter of the Dartmouth variety. Among those present were: Hugh F. Lena '12, Arno R. Vogt '30, Arthur V. Shurts 'go, Frederic F. Shurts '36, George S. Avery Jr. '23, William W. White '31, Frederic D. Leyser '32, A. A. Washton '29, Lieutenant Commander Francis M. Donahue '17.

The New Haven Club held its usual pre- Yale-basketball-game supper for Connecticut wearers of the green and the same was well attended, while the guests were quite contented both with supper and the result of the game.

Bridgeport alumni (those not in service or in defense plants, which is not many) gathered at the home of their retiring president, Jack Zellers '28 on March 2 to hear John E. Foster '23, a member of the Alumni Council, discuss the machinations of that body. It was an interesting exposition and at its conclusion the Club pro- ceeded to unveil a masterful exhibition of machine politics by electing new officers after the report of a self-appointed nominating committee of one, no discussion and a total disregard of the rules of procedure. However all of us are pleased at the results, to wit: William T. Wendell '31, president; Alfred J. Jennings '33, vice president; Robert Naramore '35, secretary, and Bill (deficit) Haist '35, treasurer. Beer, sandwiches, bull and no singing highlighted the frivolous aspect of the meeting.
