In case you didn't know, our class once again came through for the Alumni Fund. Our goal of $160,000 was exceeded by $8,000-plus. Head Agent Tom Adams is nothing short of a modern-day miracle worker, but of course all his efforts would be for naught if not for all the superb work by his many assistant agents. Most of all, the class is grateful for all you generous donors. This should reach you still in time to make plans for our mini-reunion. That's October 26,27 and 28. John McClintock gave you all the details in his newsletter. At that time Jim Von Rohr, our reunion chair, will tell all about our 55th reunion plans. Jim and most of his committee met at Reg Pierces inn in Etna in early August. These reunions just don't happen and I thought it would be fitting that you know jus twho is doing what to make our 55th a success. Jim's co-chair is Ray Dewees, who lives up on a hill in Etna. Then there's Jack Ulrich, another Hanover resident. Jack's taking care of the golf—and let's not have any rain like in '96. We need people to take care of registration. Retired bank prez Don Barr, who resides in Lyme, New Hampshire, will handle that. Vice president Bob Kimball, a West Lebanon resident, will do a host of things and be on hand to greet you. We have to have a custodian of the funds and who better from down in Connecticut, but Bob Hunt. We need transportation and Al "Monk" Martin will take care of that. The class will present a gift to all attendees. Tom Cohn is handling that, as he has in the past. Tom lives down in Connecticut. Won't tell you what the gift is, but all you women, relax! No more hats or jackets! Enough, already! What would a reunion be without a little libation? We have that under control. Retired Dr. Marty Marino from Orford, New Hampshire, and retired school superin- tendent Bill De Stefano from Cape Cod are in charge of seeing no one dies from thirst. Reg Pierce, as always, will be available to solve any unforeseen problems. And behind it all, retired president of Rome (New York) Strip Steel, our beloved class prexy A. Buol Hinman. Nowßuol doesn't actually do anything but he is unrivaled when it comes to telling others what to do. There you have it and if you have any suggestions for that crew send them on to me.

You would have read by now that our treasurer Andrew F. Gruninger Jr. died on June 22. June and Andy Murtha and I attended a memorial service held for Andy in Florham Park, New Jersey, on August 12. Andy served long and well as our treasurer. We extend our deepest sympathy to his family. I have been advised of the deaths of Allan C. Garben and Michael J. Marzano. And we extend our deepest sympathy to the families of those two classmates.
