Shirley Fox sent the church program for the "Celebration of David's Life," December 16 in Seattle. "It was beautiful and very healing. The choir wanted to sing (it was a proud and joyous part of David's life). The children spoke, and friends. It is a good memory," she says, and included a reading from David's ode in 1968 to their dog Freckles: "No slower steps for you old friend; trot always With high head through sun-flecked woods of memories."
In February Boyce and Betty Price again had their two weeks in the Aruba sun, the oil-refining island off Venezuela's coast, my old stomping grounds. Nearby Curacao provides that wonderful bitter-sweet drink.
Jane and Al Gibney spent Christmas in Panama "before the Chinese take over." He's been in touch with Bob Femald, now in Punta Gorda for a 17th winter. "Without a car I have friends who drive me to the store or for a haircut or theater or yacht club parties," says Bob. The long days are the problem. He expects to get one of 20 new rooms in the Lebanon, N.H., retirement home addition being built for the hospital in August. "It's working out well."
