I was one of the fortunate 26 to have travelled to Panama in January to enjoy the hospitality of Barbara and Val Vallarino. It was a unique experience thanks to our gracious host and hostess, who together with Howie and Joan Leavitt, arranged a '43 gathering that was both educational and memorable. Others on the trip were: Bill and Betty Jones, Bob and Joan Ehinger, Forbes and Mary Delany, John and Mary Jenkins, Jack Milbum, Connie and Muriel Young, Dick and Lucy Proctor, Walt and Mary Lou Delany, George and Orie Hebard, Bob and Joan Barnum, Hugh Lena, Rog Gaskill, Jerry Souers and Leslie Taylor. Because of space limitations I'll leave it to Howie to fill in the details. Areal bonus was to encounter some 43 faces not at recent Hanover reunionsMilbum, Souers, Walt Delany, Muggsy Hebard. A recent clipping from the Pasedena Star News carried more news on Henry Keck and his "golfmobile" company's other inventions. Bill Jones finally gave me the article covering his and Bettys thespian endeavors: Brighton Beach Metnoirs, Taming of the Shrew, On Golden Pond and Love, Sex andthe IRS. Hex Harrigan penned on his Christmas card, "From the land of waterfalls and butterballs." You interpret. An. amusing note from Don Reich reciting the nine medical specialists on his agenda (Don you get an A for correct spelling of the specialties). He also threw in a column on reaching 80 when the rules change—no one challenges your bizarre behavior anymore, it's expected! George Munroe, on return from a trip to India, reports he still maintains a busy philanthropic schedule. Don McCorkindale went through a rough patch last December but is doing OK. Its that time again to alert the New England crowd that the Cape Cod '43 mini-reunion will be Thursday-June 14, at Old Sea Pines Inn—the flyer with details will be mailed to area '43s in mid May. I can scrounge up beds if needed to get you to attend. Finally, three classmate deaths: James Olsen, Joseph Kent Hutchinson and Norman K. Probstein; also Dorothy Marx, Herb's wife. Our condolences to their families. Stay well!
