Jay Davis reports on the '54 Vermont ski mini-reunion: "Taking the sunny skies, snow conditions and attendees' enjoyment into account, this year's '54 Vermont ski mini on a scale of 1-10 was a clear-cut 10. Two fabulous days of skiing—January 22 and January 23—at Mt. Snow in southern Vermont provided the best January skiing the East has seen in many a year. There to enjoy it all were Anne and Dana Low, Ellen and Dick Gorsey, Pat and Stearns Martin, Dick Pearl and his snowboarding daughter Jennifer, and Martha and Jay Davis, who joined the group for the apres-ski fun. With nine on the hill skiing together, we mostly cruised the blues but did take on some black diamonds for some thrills, but no spills. An informal vote on departure was to duplicate the experience exactly next year. Join us in January '02."
As these notes are being written in snowy New Jersey, a group of '54s is headed to the Plantation Inn in Crystal River, Florida, for the second annual '54 golf tournament to compete for the Schenck Shaft. Planning to attend are Don Berlin, Bob Berry, Bob Dean, Mort Galper, Bill Garland, Dick Grassey, Alec Gray, Rick Hartman, Don Keller, Tom Kelsey, Dick Lewis, Bob Osmond, Dick Page, John Pope, Harry Rockefeller, Pete Schenck, Jim Tofias, Shelly Woolf and Gary Zwart.
