If pride does indeed "goeth" before a fall, then I must be the highest flying class secretary around, because I had to resort to begging folks for class news. Fortunately, e-mail saved me as always and I have some really interesting updates on some classmates that we haven't heard from in a long time.

Bryan Riffle lives in what sounds like a picture postcard setting in the Poconos with his wife of 12 years, Deedee (Keene'83), and sons Adam (10) and Toby (3). For work Bryan coordinates a full-service sales force automation software and services team for a major pharmaceutical company's remote sales force. When he is networking, he keeps busy playing in the snow with the boys in the winter and skateboarding and rollerblading in the warmer months. Since they live on a mountain, my guess is that the sledding, skiing and snowboarding are awesome!

Lisa Reynolds has been moving around so much, we are lucky to have caught up to her. She reports that after getting her Ph.D. in political science at the University of California San Diego, she and her Ph.D. husband took up residence as assistant professors in political science at Arizona State University. When the perfect Arizona weather became a little too monotonous, they moved to Sweden to work there for awhile. And now she is off to law school, although where we do not know as of this prose. Lisa, I want to thank you for the kind words and to let you know that while getting news from classmates is not always easy, being class secretary is definitely not a thankless job, at least not for me.

Steve Ridgley and wife Diane have completed their mixed-doubles family team with daughter Mackenzie (born December 22), who joins sister Savannah Leigh (7) and brothers Dylan Thomas (5) and Colin Sean (3). Steve also left consulting last year to join Home Gain.com, a Web-based real estate service that provides the resources for home buyers/sellers, agents and properties to find each other. I asked Steve what it was like to have four kids, and his answer was so funny that I must quote it: "So far it seems eminently survivable. The key is to have plenty of closet space—not to lock the kids in, you understand...with four, it's easier to hide in there ourselves."

Libby Pomfret is a certified financial planner and a partner in an investment management firm in Concord, New Hampshire. For play time Libby is still active in sports (running, skiing, horseback riding and fishing) and is in the process of buying her second farm (she sold the first). Libby says that her work is very satisfying and that she is surrounded by great friends "who enjoy getting off their butts after a week in front of computer screens" and joining her in the beauty of New Hampshire that we all know so well. Libby, one of the perks of this high paying job (hah, hah) is that I get to make contact with new friends as well as old. Thanks so much for the update and congratulations on a very fulfilling life.

One more investment story: Bill Tyree is a new partner of Brown Brothers Harriman in New York. Bill will continue to run the bank's treasury division with specific responsibility for global asset-liability management. Way to go, Bill!

Finally, thanks again to Terri Sergesketter Heath, Lynn Fabrizio and Kirsten Johanssen for a fabulous weekend in Santa Fe. It is friendships like those that make reunion hard to pass up. Hope to see you there.
