Trenny Trenholn wrote after receiving his annual birthday card, "Thank you for the birthday greetings with that great view back into old memories. Who could have dreamed it all back in the autumn of 1936?"
From Brad Rowland: "I'll never forget the thrill of receiving the college acceptance letter in 1936. My parents were extremely happy too." Also heard from Ed Curtis: "Just a note to tell you all is well in Maine. Sorry I didn't get to the reunion but things change. Still working part-time and many other jobs keep me going."
Jay Weinberg wrote "With All This Snow": Your birthday wishes were great to get! Another year has passed and yet Although time flies so very fast Your good wishes will always last!
In July the following from Bill Sinclair may seem strange: "Many thanks for the birthday card—winter scene of Dartmouth Row. We are in Florida for the winter enjoying golf and the beach. Plan to cruise the Panama Canal in March. Enjoyed seeing you and other classmates last June and plan on seeing everyone at our 65th."
Donna and I had a thank-you note from Lorraine Williams signed, "Love to you both from the wife of a Dartmouth man." Lorraine has sold the home on Saint John's Island, Florida, and plans to live in the Hanover home.
As I remember, the class of 1940 had 16 members from the University School. Only four couples attended the winter reunion at Lake Wales, Florida—their 64th and a half. Karl Bruch (he sent the list) and Ginny, Kay and Jack Ingersoll, Dave Davenport and Carol and Eb Cockley and Mavie attended along with president John Moore and Tina, who live nearby. Brownie and Joyce were greatly missed.
Turk Turkevich and Betty spent some winter time in Tucson, Arizona, visiting their daughter. Nice to get away from the New England snow. They have daughters in Portland, Oregon, and Lincolnville, Maine. Ann Berger spent the holidays in Stowe, Vermont, and read by the fire while the others skied and skied and skied. Bob Gensel, we hear from Didi, is finding more to do in the new unit to which he was moved. How about sending him a postcard?
