Class vice president Duane Cox is moving to Palm Springs. He says, "We plan to open an artists co-op of some form yet to be determined. There are many wonderful artists in the desert who can use a place to be seen. We have a huge inventory of our own paintings as well, so inventory should not be a problem. I may do some public speaking too. Mostly we plan to spend many hours in our pool and spa. Our home is beside the 17th green at a wonderful country club called, apdy enough, Canyon Country Club. Everyone is very welcome to give us a call if you find yourself in the Palm Springs area."

Mike Norman has stepped down as chairman of pediatrics and residency program director at Carolinas Medical Center. He says, 'After spending a fair bit of time on my new 'first love'—child health advocacy, both regionally and state wide—I joined The Hunter Group, a well-known health-care consulting group. Known initially for its work as a 'turn-around agent' that has helped medical centers large and small, community based and university-based, to avoid wholesale layoffs and/or filing for bankruptcy, they have recently focused on mergers, acquisitions and strategic planning, which is my area of interest and expertise."

Mike is also on the Dartmouth Medical School Alumni Council. "It has been a most enjoyable and informative experience, from which I have learned a great deal about current issues facing DMS and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Center."

Notes from the last mini-reunion: Bruce Johnson: "My lifestyle is changing. I work at home two days a week and three are at the office. I have been at Polaroid for 38 years and am still having fun. I get to create and play with new toys. Computer design has been a boost to my career. I started with slide rules and paper. Now I make all my pictures with digital technology, and I am continually amazed how fast this new stuff happens. I have six grandchildren, a wife of 39 years, a nice home in New London, New Hampshire. Life is very good."

Alan Orschei: 'Am still enjoying the practice of law. We represent the company that created Barney, the purple dinosaur—grandparents please note. The practice involves a fair amount of divorce work as well. Nora and I are doing more traveling as our sons Brad and Jeff are now in Washington. Am less involved in extracurricular activities—but Nora gave me a personal trainer for our 25th anniversary so that takes up some free time!"

Marge and Ron Boss: "Two new grandsons bring the total to six grandchildren under 5 years of age. Retired from CEO spot at Cross in November 1999 and now am chairman (non-executive). Serving on Presidential Leadership Council at Dartmouth—another capital campaign is coming up. Hope to spend more time at Hanover condo in the future."

Terry Ortwein: "Moved to West Lebanon last summer—one mile to Lous. Retired, writing some, three granddaughters."
