FRENCH POSTCARDS: Mark Sargent is in France leading tours for the Putney Travel Group. Although Mark is teaching French to high schoolers in N.Y.C. during the normal school year, Putney is itching to get him up to Vermont to work with them full time.
ALL THE PRESIDENT'S ... : Kathy "Babs" Jeavons is doing that work thing as an aide to the President (yes, of the United States). I'd tell you exactly what she does, but it wouldn't be prudent at this juncture.
THE COOK, THE THIEF ... : Tsan Merritt-Poree is teaching kosher cooking at UCLA after a stint in Boston running the kitchen of a kosher restaurant.
THE FRONT PAGE: Dan Fagin is reporting for New York Newsday, while his wife, Alison Frankel, writes for American Lawyer, an "upmarket publication" for the professional on the go.
AUTHOR, AUTHOR: Valerie Block is living in Chicago and writing short stories, one of which is to be published in the Mississippi Review Literary Magazine. We are currently trying to negotiate with Ms. Block's agent to allow us to serialize her work in this space, but they won't return our calls.

SEA OF LOVE: Mike Clarkin was married in June of 1989 to Lisa Emerian and is now living in Foster City ("just south of San Francisco")- Why Mike waited so long to report his marriage is unknown, but it's not because he was waiting to have children. He and his wife are "not yet up to kids," but do have the requisite substitute a black cocker spaniel puppy. Mike is working for Hewlett-Packard and his wife is currently looking for work among the ad agencies in the Bay Area.
More recently, Sally Schwartz was married last May to Tim Higginson in Evanston, Ill. The newlyweds are spending three weeks in Australia and will be moving to Washington, D.C., upon their return. Sally's wedding was an elegant, fairly non-denominational celebration which yielded a bounty of information on some fellow classmates all of whom are doing very cool things.
HIGH SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL: Sarah Rahr Fortna is teaching learningdisabled high school kids at The Cove School in Winnetka. Her husband, Ben, is getting his Ph.D. in modern Middle Eastern languages at the University of Chicago.
THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE: Tina Helsell is engaged to be married to William Messing '82 on August 25 in Seattle. Tina got an M.A. in Chinese from Stanford and was leading tours in China when she met her future husband. She is currently living in San Francisco, planning her wedding, trying to keep her sanity, and working for a Chinese company (in that order).
RADIO DAYS: Anne Goodwin is living in Washington D.C., where she is working as a free-lance radio correspondent. Anne is going to marry Hampton Sides on September 2.
PARENTHOOD (playing on two screens): Ed Beach and his wife Sarah wrote to announce the birth of their son, Matthew William, last February.
John Scott and Adrienne Wilscam Scott are expecting their second child. Adrienne is working for a computer software company and John is finishing his Ph.D. in philosophy at the University of Chicago. Their daughter Caitlin is just starting her terrible twos.
