Sanborn Library at tea, X-Delta and the porch of the Hanover Inn: these are a few of the places that are indelibly etched in my mind. The Alumni Magazine's January/February 2002 issue will focus on the Dartmouth's special places. You are all encouraged to contribute a write-up—Brooks Clark has written an elegy to the Jack-o'-Lantem office. Please take a few moments and send in your thoughts.

Christine Hayer Repasy has been named senior vice president and general counsel at Hartford Life. She has been with Hartford Life since 1991. New Hampshire Gov. Jeanne Shaheen re-nominated Bruce Keough to the university system of New Hampshire's board of trustees. Bruce has served on the board since January 1997 and is currently the chairman of the board. Peter Hirshberg has been appointed president of Gloss.com, a multi-brand cosmetics and beauty site co-owned by Estee Lauder Cos., Chanel Inc. and Group Clarins USA. Previously Peters new-media strategy firm developed marketing strategies for America Online, Microsoft, NBC Television Network and Pacific Bell.

Michael Carroll is a partner at Davis Polk, where he served as lead partner for the defense in "The Common Fund v. KPMG Peat Marwick." The National Law Journal chose that victory as its top defense win for 2000. Steve Boulanger is the chief financial officer for Openpages Inc., a provider of content management software solutions fore-business. Previously Stevewas CFO and vice president of corporate development at Iwant.com.

This months news comes courtesy of the College's clipping service. While I will take news where I can get it, I hope some of you will send me an update. This would be helpful in making the column a little more timely. In the meantime, I apologize for the fact that some of what you just read occurred a year ago!
